There has been plenty of genuine Irish involvement at the top of the leaderboard to make staying up late worth it as Shane Lowry sits in a tie for fourth place going into Sunday.
He sits seven shots off Scheffler at -2 as a frustrating back nine last night looks to have put pay to any hopes of a magical major win to go along with his 2019 Open success.
Lowry picked up where he left off at the end of his second round and was two-under (-5 for the tournament) through six holes of his third round.

The four-time major champion is tied for ninth position at +1 after a one-under-par 71 in his third round.
Tiger Woods, meanwhile, again looked to be struggling physically and shot a six-over 78 after a poor putting display, which included a four-putt double-bogey on the fifth green.
