GAA confirm All-Ireland SFC Qualifier and Hurling preliminary round details

St Tiernach’s Park in Clones will host the round two Qualifier tie between Armagh and Donegal on Sunday afternoon.

The GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) confirmed details for the second round of the Qualifiers following Monday morning’s draw.

Once again, the big hitters have been pitted against each other, as was the case for the first round which was played last weekend.

Armagh’s reward for the impressive six-point win over Tyrone is a rematch with Donegal, who defeated Kieran McGeeney’s men by seven points in Ballybofey in April’s Ulster quarter-final.

There was speculation that Croke Park would host the all-Ulster clash as part of a double-header this weekend along with the meeting of Mayo and Kildare.

However, Donegal return to Clones instead following their Ulster final defeat to Derry last month with a big crowd expected at St Tiernach’s Park on Sunday. That game throws-in at 4pm with RTÉ2 broadcasting the game live.

Sky Sports will, once again, be showing the Mayo footballers in action as they bid to reach the last eight at the expense of Kildare.

Croke Park hosts that round two tie on Saturday at 6pm as part of a double-header at Headquarters with Clare versus Roscommon at 3.45pm, which is also on Sky Sports.

The remaining Qualifier meeting between Limerick and Cork will be played on Sunday at 1.30pm at Páirc Uí Chaoimh due to a home and away arrangement between the two counties.

The winners of this weekend’s Qualifiers will progress to the All-Ireland SFC quarter-finals to face one of the provincial champions later this month.

Meanwhile, Antrim’s All-Ireland SHC preliminary quarter-final meeting with Cork will take place at Corrigan Park this Saturday at 2pm.

The Saffrons won the Joe McDonagh Cup on Saturday following an epic 5-22 to 4-24 win over Kerry at Croke Park.

The Kingdom, meanwhile, host Wexford on 2pm at Tralee with that game also on Saturday.
