A GAA club have spoken out about a 'distasteful video doing the rounds' that their name is mentioned in, in which a man appears to be wearing black facepaint.
Brian Dillons GAA, a well known club and one of Cork city's oldest, took to social media to make it clear that they were in no way involved with the video, reports Cork Beo.
"Brian Dillons were made aware of a distasteful video that has been doing the rounds, in which our good club name and the name of one of our members was mentioned," they said.
"We would like to distance ourselves from this and make abundantly clear that the club, or any of its members, were not involved in this pathetic video," they added.
The club recently got involved with a community-based organisation called Tuungane which mentors children in Africa through sports.
They donated a set of jerseys to school kids in Mombasa, Kenya, so that the boys and girls teams could have their own identity on the football pitch.
In their statement about the video circulating on social media that appears to mock their generous gesture, a spokesperson for Brian Dillon's GAA said, "Dillons prides itself on its community work and its a pity that our recent involvement with an African-based charity has been sullied by such a disgusting act."
