Future has released his first album of 2020, High Off Life, and it’s apparently already achieved Gold status.
According to Chart Data, an account that shares regular music industry news, stats and updates, Future achieved the feat because of the success of its pre-release tracks, including “Life is Good”.
Gold certification means an album has shifted 500,000 equivalent units – the RIAA [Recording Industry of America] began counting streams towards that figure in 2016.
“Life is Good”, the track featuring Drake, has received more than 358 million streams on Spotify alone.
An alert from Chart Data reads: “Future’s High Off Life album immediately goes RIAA Gold due to the success of the pre-release tracks including “Life Is Good” (via Epic).”
High Off Life was produced by Future’s longtime collaborator DJ Esco, and includes guest appearances from Drake, Travis Scott, DaBaby and Young Thug.
It marks the rapper’s first solo LP since Future Hndrxx Presents: The Wizrd in 2019, and follows the re-release of three of his mid-2010s mixtapes on streaming services last month, including 2016’s Purple Reign.
Future has also recently appeared on Drake’s track “Desires”, which was included on the Dark Lane Demo Tapes mixtape.
He has a guest verse on a remix of RMR’s “Dealer” ahead of the fellow rapper’s EP, which is released later this month.
High Off Life is out now on all major streaming services.
