GB News has tried to claim Rachael Blackmore as one of the 'greatest Britons' in a news segment.
The superstar jockey is coming off the back of two major wins at this month's Cheltenham festival.
She was roundly praised for an interview on Tuesday morning with BBC Breakfast.
But GB News ran a segment on the Dan Wootton Tonight show on Tuesday asking a panel for their 'Greatest Britons'.
And there was no holding back, as contributor Dawn Neesom went straight in by choosing Rachael.
Blackmore is famously from a small parish in Tipperary, Killenaule.
And the clip quickly caught the attention of Irish social media users.
One tweeted: "Give it a rest Britons. We’ve offered you Conor McGregor on a number of occasions and you won’t take him.
Another pointed out: "You can't designate people as 'Britons' just because they won the top two championship races at your top jumps racing festival, Ms. Neesom. That's not how it works.
While a third relied on the classic: "Never not at it."
Our favourite response has to be this extremely accurate one though: "The only association Rachael Blackmore has with the British is she goes over and wins their races every year."
