A SECOND man has been arrested following an incident on Glasgow's Argyle Street this morning.

Emergency services were called to the main road, near its junction with Blantyre Road, just after 1am this morning, after reports of a man and a woman being injured.

The pair, aged 48 and 49, were both taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries, along with a 76-year-old man.

Police Scotland has now revealed that this man has now been arrested in connection with assault.

A 48-year-old man was earlier arrested, in connection with robbery.

The main road remains closed between Bunhouse Road and Sauchiehall Street, as officers remain in the area to continue the investigation.

Forensics were also pictured on the scene.

Anyone with any information or concerns can approach the police and motorists are asked to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
