Former Chelsea head coach Jose Mourinho was sent off again during an AS Roma game on Tuesday evening.
Mourinho, who has been linked with a sensational third stint at Chelsea as Graham Potter continues to come under scrutiny, was handed his marching orders for a third time this season. He appeared to be unhappy that referee Marco Piccinini did not give a foul for his side against Cremonese and his protestations were deemed too much for the match official.
Mourinho's Roma struggled in a woeful first-half and found themselves behind after 17 minutes thanks to a superb striker from Frank Tsadjout. Having already been sent off in games against Atalanta and Torino earlier this season, Mourinho could not hold back his anger and was later pictured looking furious in the stands at the Giovanni Zini Stadium.
Roma are 21 points behind runaway Serie A leaders Napoli but sit just three from Inter Milan in second place. If Mourinho's men are to get their Serie A form back on track having recorded a loss and a draw in their last four games - they could easily secure automatic qualification into next season's Champions League group stages.
Former Italy striker Antonio Cassano reckons Mourinho would be a good candidate for a potential Potter replacement if the Englishman is sacked. Chelsea's latest defeat came in Sunday's 2-0 reverse at Tottenham Hotspur, a result that leaves them in tenth place and 14 points behind Spurs in fourth.
"If Inzaghi were to be fired, I would rule out the return of Jose Mourinho," Cassano said on Italian TV. "If an offer from the Premier League were to arrive, the Special One would choose England.
"The fans fell in love with his attitude (in Italy), but he intends to leave, and for me, he can only go back to Chelsea."
