Furious ITV Emmerdale fans make demand as Liv and Vinny hit the rocks

Emmerdale fans have been left furious after Liv Flaherty and Vinny Dingle appeared to hit the rocks during the latest trip to the Yorkshire Dales. The couple haven't had the easiest of relationships but have been back on track after eloping.

Vinny and Liv got secretly engaged after Liv was finally released from prison where she was accused of killing Ben Tucker, when viewers all knew it was serial killer Meena Jutla behind the horror deaths. They had not long reunited after they split over Liv's admission that she didn't try and help Vinny's abusive dad out of the barn fire.

This led to Liv hitting the bottle as she relapsed back into alcoholism. But things had been much better of late - until Liv's alcoholic mum Sandra arrived in the village. Sandra was last seen in the ITV soap last year when she reunited with her daughter at a caravan park in Wales as her alcohol addiction spiralled.

But back in July, Sandra waltzed back into their lives and was begging her daughter for help as she insisted she wanted to change. It was, however, all a lie and she plans to con her daughter out of her money and home. Emmerdale viewers have already seen her try and push Vinny toward friend Gabby Thomas.

When that failed last week, she has turned to plan B - getting her daughter back onto alcohol. And she kickstarted her plan during Wednesday night's episode (September 7) when the mother and daughter headed to The Woolpack and sampled Bob Hope's new cocktails.

Liv was enjoying a non-alcoholic drink with her mum before Wendy joined them. As they ordered another round, Wendy asked for rum in her drink and when they arrived at the table, Sandra started to show Liv something funny on her phone in a bid to distract her as she pushed the alcoholic drink in her direction.

As Liv took a sip, she was left horrified to discover it was alcohol with the pair blaming Bob for the 'mistake'. Sandra advised Liv to keep it a secret from her husband but then went behind her back and told Vinny. He headed home and spoke to Liv and showed his support.

But when she caught him looking up support meetings, she kicked off. Confronting Liv, Vinny questioned why she didn’t spit out the drink and was worried that she chose to keep it a secret until he 'overheard' Bob talking about it. But Liv tried to ensure him that she didn’t want to drink, but said his behaviour is what would make her want to.

And Emmerdale viewers were quickly flocking to social media with a demand. @lucindabundy98 said: "Get rid of Sandra already I don't want vinny and liv to split up they are so good together." @miss_nini_32 echoed: "Nooo. Sandra needs to disappear." @jojbrogan commented: "Get rid of Sandra please! Liv and Vinny are a lovely couple let us have one happy couple please!!!"

But there was also a lot of mentions of a character who they want to return to help. @jackiejrhadley said: "Aaron, where are you? Come and sort it out please!" @filomenaodonnell echoed: "Get Aaron back." @amyharleyquinnxx2 added: "Yh get rid of Sandra and LIv and Vinny are better together and bring back Aaron as well."

Lucky for them, Aaron IS coming back, albeit only on a temporary basis. Speaking to the Manchester Evening News and other press last month, Kate Brooks, Emmerdale's series producer, revealed ahead of the 50th anniversary that Danny Miller, Amy Walsh and Elizabeth Estensen will all be reprising their roles as Aaron, Tracy Metcalfe and Diane Sugden on a 'temporary basis'.

"They'll come back and be at the heart of some really big stories that will impact their lives and not just them but the lives of the characters they leave behind," she teased.
