Chelsea have been told that they got away with one against West Ham after Edouard Mendy's late misshap looked to have gifted the Hammers a last-minute equaliser.
Thomas Tuchel's side clung on to earn a vital three points after a tough week following defeat against Southampton. The defining point in the match came late though, and only moments after Chelsea themselves had gone ahead.
Ben Chilwell turned in from an acute angle to bring the Blues level after Mendy's earlier hesitation from a corner led to Michail Antonio opening the scoring. Kai Havterz's late volley should have been enough to win Chelsea the game - in the end it was - but West Ham fans had a moment of delirium in the away end after Mendy parried a Reece James pass into the path of Maxwell Cornet.

Chelsea received the rub of the green on this occasion though and after refereeing decisions went against them earlier in the campaign against Tottenham, Tuchel might feel that it's only right for this moment to go his way - though that deflects away from more questionable refereeing.
The issue was the big talking point on a day where Chelsea laboured and caused their own problems again, and West Ham captain Declan Rice was quick to show his anger, tweeting at full time: "That’s up there with one of the worst VAR decisions made since it’s come into the game. Shambles."
Rice's manager also agreed, with David Moyes saying, "It is a scandalous decision, absolutely rotten decision from one of the supposedly elite referees. It doesn't say much about whoever sent him over from VAR as well - it is an unbelievable decision against us."
The England midfielder then went on to say, "Can’t believe the referee has even been asked to go take a look at the monitor! Cannot see how they’ve come to that decision."
Antonio himself also voiced displeasure with the result and the decision, tweeting, "You put your all in on the pitch, and for it to be decided like that, just doesn’t feel right."
Jarred Gillett was the man on VAR duty and he sent onfield referee Andy Madley over to the screen, despite it appearing that Jarred Bowen's contact on Mendy came after the keeper pushed the ball into Cornet's path.
