Furious camel bites and tramples man to death after lashing out at kid's holiday camp

An angry camel lashed out and killed a man at a children's holiday camp in Russia after it was struck in the face.

The animal bit and trampled the 51-year-old during the incident at Beryozka recreation Centre in Omsk, Siberia, Russia.

He was rushed to hospital but later died.

He had hit the previously “peaceful” two-humped camel in the face after pulling strongly on its reins.

The camel retaliated, biting the man several times.

“The animal did not appreciate such treatment,” said a local report. “The man paid with his life after hitting the animal in the face…

“The victim was taken to hospital, but it was not possible to save him.”

It comes as temperatures of around -9C freeze Siberia.

Local prosecutors are checking if the camel was legally held at the children’s camp.

This comes as in Hong Kong, a pig killed a butcher after being stunned at a slaughterhouse - before waking up and lashing out.

The city's police say the 61-year-old, who worked at the Sheung Shui Slaughterhouse near the country's border with mainland China, sustained a wound from a 15-inch meat cleaver after the writhing pig knocked him to the ground.

The butcher had just shot the pig with an electric stun gun when it regained consciousness and toppled him over.

A little later, a colleague found him unconscious with a cleaver in his hand and a wound on his left foot.

He was later pronounced dead at hospital. Hong Kong police said his cause of death is still to be determined.

The region's labour department expressed its "deepest sympathy" to the butcher's family and said it has launched a probe.

Pigs are rarely violent animals, only when protecting their young, and are considered highly intelligent.
