Funeral details announced for elderly Eileen Dalton who was killed in south Dublin fatal crash

The funeral details for an elderly woman who passed away after being struck by a vehicle in Dun Laoghaire last Friday have been confirmed.

Eileen Dalton was killed in the freak incident on George's Street Lower in the town on Friday morning.

Emergency services raced to the scene with witnesses telling Dublin Live paramedics did "their best" to save the woman.

Mrs Dalton's funeral mass will take place at Church of St. Columbanus, Loughlinstown Drive on Thursday at 10am.

The great-grandmother will then be cremated at Mount Jerome Crematorium at 12.15pm.

Her RIP.ie death notice reads: "Eileen; dearly beloved wife and best friend of Nickie, much loved mother of Ashley, devoted grandmother to Carla and Robyn and great-grandmother of Stevie and Finn

"She will be very sadly missed by her heartbroken husband, daughter, son-in-law Steven, granddaughters, great-grandchildren, her sisters Anne, Lily Theresa and Bernie, brother Billy, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours.

"May she rest in peace. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to a charity of choice."
