Tributes have been left this week to remember loved ones in Manchester who have recently passed away.

Announcing the death of a family member has been a time-honoured tradition for family and loved ones at a time of grieving.

Beryl Thornycroft

Mrs Beryl Thornycroft of Brinnington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 1 at Stepping Hill Hospital, aged 92 years.

Beryl was the dearly beloved wife of the late John, and a much loved Mum to Pauline, Stephen, Ian, David and Paul and a much loved Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

Beryl will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Beryl's funeral service will be held on Friday 25th March, at the Rowan Chapel, Stockport Crematorium at 2:30pm.

By request family flowers only, donations if desired can be made directly to a charity of your choice in Beryl's memory.

Rodney Taylor

Rodney Arthur Taylor, loving Husband of the late Eileen, Dad and Granddad died on March 4, aged 79.

A funeral will be at the New Chapel, Southern Cemetery on Wednesday March, 23 at 3pm.

Doris Robertson

Mrs Doris Robertson died on March, 3, peacefully aged 93.

Doris, of Burnage, was the beloved wife to the late Kenneth. Doris will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Service and committal to take place at Manchester Crematorium on Thursday, March 24 at 2.30pm.

Ann Moakler

Mrs Elizabeth Ann Moakler died on February 26, at the age of 87.

Elizabeth, known as Betty to some of her friends and family, was the widow of Kevin Peter Moakler.

She was an avid reader and loved to travel. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends as the charismatic person she was.

The funeral service will take place with a Requiem Mass at St Alphonsus R C Church, Old Trafford, Stretford on Friday, March 25 at 10am, followed by Committal at Manchester Crematorium.

Francis Joseph Crompton, a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather formerly from Bolton died on March 7, aged 92.

Jack White

Jack White died peacefully at home on March 7, 2022 aged 100 years.

The dearly loved husband to the late Doris, a much-loved dad to Brendan, Malcolm, Ian and Keith also a dear granddad to Craig, Ryan and Rachel.

Patricia Saile

Patricia Ann Saile (nee Lowe) passed peacefully on March 14, 2022, aged 79 years, with loving family at Carders Court Care Home.

Now re-united with husband Alan.

Beloved Mum of Amanda and supportive Mum-in-law of Raymond and a proud nana of Isaac and Tiago.

A much loved friend of Janet. Thank you to Brian and Grace for being life-long friends and advisors, and to Dancho and family, who were also close to her heart. Special thanks to Garfield House at Carders Court Care Home for their support and care.

John Smith died peacefully, aged 81 years, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday March 6.

James Ryder

James Ryder of Stockport died peacefully aged 79.

The former Head of Unison was the beloved Husband to the late Joan, Father to Stephen, Peter and Steven.

He was loving Grandfather to Laura, Hayley, Emily and James, and a loving great-grandfather.

He will be sadly missed by all his friends and colleagues and all who knew and loved him.

Norman Plumb

Norman Plumb passed away peacefully at home on March, 13, aged 95 years.

He is now re-united with his beloved wife Barbara.

Norman was a loving Dad of Elaine and Darryll, and an amazing Granddad of Paul and Lesleu ncle of Sheila and Robert.

Special thanks have been given to his daughter Elaine and niece Sheila for all of their care, love and support.

Brian Linney

Brian Linney passed away peacefully at home on March, 10, surrounded by his family, following a short battle with cancer.

He was the beloved Husband of Trish and much loved Father of Wayne, Tracey, Kayleigh and Natasha and grandfather to Lucy, John, Ben, Neave, Josh and Seren.

Barbara Forster

Barbara Forster (FOSTER) passed away peacefully on March 6, aged 87.

She was a loving wife to Robert for 62 years and a wonderful mother to Mark, Neil, Justine and Jason.

A devoted grandmother to Daniel, Amy, Lucy, Eleanor, Ben and Hannah.

Carmel Ellis

Carmel Maria Ellis died peacefully on February 25, aged 63, at Stepping Hill.

She was the beloved partner of John Fury and mother to sons Mark and Kevin.

Carmel will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, Carmel's family ask that donations be made to one of Carmel's favourite charities, Wellspring Stockport.

James Andrew Walmsley (Andy) died surrounded by his family on March 11, aged 76.

He was the much loved husband of Elaine, father to Jane and Sarah., 'Papa' to Alice, Ava, Ariane and Ellery and friend to many.

A service of celebration of his life will be held at Charnock Richard Crematorium on Friday 25th March at 11:30am and afterwards at New Longton Sports and Social Club.

Frank Nugent

Frank Nugent died peacefully at Clare Mount Care Home on February, 26 aged 87.

He was the dearly loved husband of Sheila, a loving father to Sharon and Gary and father-in-law to Bryn and Anne, a devoted granddad to Sophie, Dawn, Elizabeth and Harry, great-granddad to Max, Holly and Harriet and James.

Frank was a brother and brother in law and much loved uncle. Frank will be greatly missed by all his family.

Bridget (Bridie) Muldoon (Nee Brett) died peacefully on March 1 aged 85.

Bridie was the dearly beloved wife of the late Frank. and loving mum of Kathy and Bernard.

She was a loved Grandma of Niamh, Michael, Thomas, Andrew and the late Declan.

Marilyn Elizabeth Johnson nee Jannetta of CVheadle Hulme died on February 26, aged 76 years.

The dearly loved daughter of the late Maurice and Elizabeth, now reunited, and much loved sister of Maureen, Rose, Anne and Meg. Eileen was also a treasured auntie to all her nephews and their families.
