Exclusive editions of toys from leading brands across America, Europe and Asia take centre stage during the 11th Thailand Toy Expo, which will be held at CentralWorld, Ratchadamri Road, Thursday to Sunday from 10am to 10pm.
Hailed as the country's largest and most anticipated toy fair, the four-day event will gather world-class toy and collectible artists and designers from over 150 leading brands from 14 countries including the US, Japan, China, Hong Kong and South Korea.
They'll be bringing their special collections as well as exclusive editions, some never showcased anywhere before. This will be the first chance for fans and collectors to shop for exclusive toys by their favourite brands.
Highlights will be the "Murakami x Instinctoy Exhibition", a collaborative project by Japan's contemporary artist Takashi Murakami and the art figure company; the launch of a 175cm-tall Zyuranger figure from JPX; and the launch of new cartoon characters from Japanese collectible card battle game Yu-Gi-Oh! and Japanese manga series Chainsaw Man.
Not to be missed for fans of the superhero team from the Super Sentai series, a special show featuring the five rangers will be flown in from Japan for this event.
Lovers of Buddhist art are invited to stop by the Spiritual Zone which will showcase works by 30 leading artists, as well as sculptural works from a contest by Siam Pratima. Many booths will offer Buddha charms, amulets, talismans, auspicious items and fortune-telling services as well as free auspicious phone numbers and a chance to win auspicious phone numbers worth 100,000 baht by True.
There also will be a cosplay competition open to children as well as adults all of whom can vie for plaques and cash prizes. Applications should be made by Friday and the competition will take place on Saturday at 2pm at Central Court.
