Vengeful locals have vowed to slaughter the snake that strangled a beloved village cat to death.
The kitty was tragically found dead Sunday by one of its regular feeders in Jurong West, Singapore.
It was known to wander the neighbourhood and was beloved by many locally.
However the friendly feline was killed by a snake, leading to locals vowing vengeance and one even promising to “chop” the serpent's head off.
Cat vigilante Julie Chong put out a Facebook post showing the murdered kitty with one image of the snake strangling it and another of the body.
Alongside it she wrote: “The sad fate of a community cat at 49* Jurong West Feeders, please call Acres when you saw a snake.
“I am looking out for one community cat that got bitten by the snake. Please reach out to me if the cat is at the vet.”
She posted on a cat help Facebook group and many of the commenters mourned the passing animal.
One woman wrote: “I hate snakes after watching those poor cats had been bitten/eaten”.
Another added: “Run free over the Rainbow bridge sweet little angel”.
But another vowed to behead the snake if they ever saw it, however others pointed out it was just in the snake’s nature and it was best left to animal authorities and charities.
Another commenter said they now carried a “big stick” in case they ever came across such incidents and encouraged others to do the same.
Tragically, one commenter said the cat resembled their own that had gone missing recently.
