Fuming Emmerdale fans beg for Meena storyline to end as episode finishes on another cliffhanger

Emmerdale fans have once again expressed their exasperation at the Meena storyline, as another episode comes and goes with no apparent conclusion to the long-running plot.

In tonight's episode, Meena appeared in the docks and was watching on as barristers cross-examined Liam, who's daughter Leanna was brutally murdered by Meena. Giving a tearful account of his grief, Liam told the court that Leanna had the "world at her feet", but that her life was cruelly taken from her by Meena.

But the end of tonight's episode suggested that the evil killer could well get away with her killings, as barristers cross-examined Liam and left it appearing that he was trying to frame Meena. As the episode drew to a close, Emmerdale fans could not help but spot Meena "smirk" as she was led out of the dock, possibly believing that Liam had secured her freedom.

Jordan Phelps said: "Meeniac smirk at the end, can I punch her please!!!"

And Kim Carberry said: "Ugh! Meena is so smug! That smirk!"

But plenty of fans were also exasperated with the episode, having hoped that Meena's court appearance would draw to a close the mammoth storyline that has dominated the soap for months. Some fans expressed that they were sick of the sight of Meena.

"Definitely won't be putting myself through watching the rest of this week's @emmerdale episodes", said Beth Squires.

Bernadette Moor said: "Really hope that #MeenaJutla gets her comeuppance. @emmerdale we've put up with this storyline for too long, please don't let her get away with it".

Katy Fahy said: "I absolutely hate how they have dragged this storyline on but Meena isn’t half a good character."

Twitter user @19Meridian77 said: "#Emmerdale plz just end this nonsense now. #EastEnders haven't shown their murderer since he was arrested around 3 weeks ago but you lot think its entertaining to just drag it on and on for months."

And Lyndsey Fitzpatrick said: "I don’t know if I’ve got the patience to watch #Meena trial drag on all week!! I might just watch Fridays episode BUT apparently this IS HER FINAL WEEK!!"
