Arsenal return to action when they play Everton in the Premier League on Wednesday night.
The Gunners can move five points clear of Manchester City in second place when Mikel Arteta's side play their game-in-hand on Pep Guardiola's men, who beat Bristol City 3-0 in the FA Cup on Tuesday. Arsenal secured their second consecutive win when they beat Leicester City 1-0 on Saturday and with games against Everton and AFC Bournemouth - both at home - coming up they represent two good chances to secure more crucial wins in their Premier League title charge.
Remarkably, though, another big game in the title race is not being televised live in the United Kingdom. Arsenal's win at Leicester on Saturday took place during the Saturday afternoon blackout period so was not being shown domestically and only to a worldwide audience.
The Everton game takes place while FA Cup matches are being shown live, but because it is a rearranged match from a Saturday afternoon earlier in the season it cannot be broadcast on TV in the UK - like Liverpool vs Wolverhampton Wanderers which is also being played on Wednesday. The only permitted way to watch the Arsenal game is at the Emirates Stadium, with radio commentary or football.london's live coverage the alternatives.
Debate around the blackout rule continues and will be thrown into sharp focus once more when Arsenal play Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon. Gunners fans are fuming they cannot watch the game in the UK while overseas supporters can enjoy the action.
"How is this not being televised in the UK when it's a fairly big game in the title race?" one Arsenal fan asked on social media. "Where can we watch this? Sucks as it says it's not on live TV," another added while a third supporter said: "It’s really strange that me, a foreign fan, can watch it tonight without problems but you locals can’t."
"I've just realised this isn't on TV, fuming," another Arsenal fan said. "They absolutely need to do away with the non-televised rule," a fifth Gunners supporter added.
