Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis recently addressed concerns about potential delays in the case against former President Donald Trump and his 14 co-defendants. Despite facing challenges related to her relationship with her lead prosecutor, Willis assured that her team has been diligently working on the case.

During a recent Easter basket giveaway event in Atlanta, Willis emphasized that her office has not been slowed down by attempts to remove her from the high-profile election subversion case. She stated, 'We were writing responsive briefs, we were still doing the case in a way that it needed to be done. I don’t feel like we’ve been slowed down at all. I do think there are efforts to slow down this train, but the train is coming.'

While the DA's office remains focused on moving forward with the prosecution, legal hurdles persist. Last week, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee granted requests from Trump and his co-defendants to appeal the decision allowing Willis to continue leading the case. The matter is now pending review by the Georgia Court of Appeals.

Despite the ongoing legal challenges, Willis expressed confidence in her team's ability to stay on track. She affirmed, 'We’re not going to miss or skip a beat because of all the noise or distraction on one case. We’re going to continue to do our work.'

The case revolves around allegations of efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. As the legal proceedings unfold, all eyes are on the developments in Fulton County as the prosecution prepares to present its case against Trump and the other defendants.
