Tottenham Hotspur return to Premier League action as they travel to Patrick Vieira's Crystal Palace on Wednesday (January 4).
Antonio Conte's side dropped to fifth on the back of their 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa as Manchester United racked up back-to-back wins to move five points clear in the final Champions League position.
Liverpool are breathing down Spurs' necks but they were dealt a brief spell of respite after Brentford inflicted a miserable start to the calendar year for Jurgen Klopp's side.

Since the return from the World Cup, Spurs are yet to win and Conte has come under the microscope with the January transfer window four days in.
Going into the trip to Selhurst Park, question marks remain over the involvement of Dejan Kulusevski. The Swedish attacker was at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on New Year's Day but absent through a muscle injury.
On the concerns, Conte said: "I don’t know, honestly. Now, I don’t know because we have today and tomorrow to check his situation. For sure, we will see. The injury is not serious. Then, if the player gives his availability, he could play. Otherwise we have to wait and to have patience for the next game."
Some of the confirmed absentees are Richarlison, Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma. The South American duo are nursing muscle injuries as the former Brighton midfielder will sit out of Wednesday's clash through suspension.
