Full-sized halloumi burgers now on sale at Iceland for just £2.50 a pack

Iceland has launched a brand new burger just in time for BBQ season - and it looks delicious.

The frozen food supermarket has created full-sized halloumi burgers so the popular cheese can now be used for more than just a burger topping.

Each burger is made up of a patty of halloumi cheese coated in crispy breadcrumbs.

You get two patties per pack and the packs cost £2.50.

Plus at 90g per halloumi burger, Iceland shoppers get almost 50 per cent more cheese when compared with alternatives.

Iceland's boasts more cheese than similar items from ASDA, Sainsbury’s and Tesco, BirminghamLive reports.

Customers can pick up the burger in store and online now for a limited time only.

What’s more, shoppers can enjoy it come rain or shine as it can be cooked in the oven or on the BBQ from frozen – making it the ideal partner for the unpredictable British weather.

The burger is set to answer prayers across the UK, as Brits chow down over 12,000 tonnes of the Cypriot delicacy per year.

The nation is so obsessed with the cheese that it has become the world’s largest importer of halloumi.

Iceland recommends serving the Cypriot speciality in a brioche bun with mounds of fresh, crunchy salad and a large scoop of Iceland Houmous (£1.00, 200g) to complement the deliciously cheesy flavour.
