Full Liverpool squad to face Brentford as Cody Gakpo likely to be made to wait for debut

Liverpool return to Premier League action this evening when they take on Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The Reds made it two wins from two over the Christmas period with a victory over Leicester City at Anfield on Friday night. Despite falling behind to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s goal, Wout Faes became just the fourth player to score two own goals in a single Premier League game.

Speaking after the win over Brendan Rodgers’ sidem Reds boss Jurgen Klopp revealed the latest on injuries. He said: "Bobby (Roberto Firmino) and Milly (James Milner), we have to see but there is a chance.

"Ibou (Ibrahima Konate) has a good chance, Curtis (Jones) is now in full training so not sure, maybe for the squad but obviously this information I don’t have yet. Let’s see."

Cody Gakpo officially became a Liverpool player yesterday after the transfer window opened for business. But speaking ahead of Friday night’s game, Klopp admitted he doesn’t expect the former PSV man to be available until the FA Cup third-round visit of Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday night.

The German said: “There might be a chance for Brentford but not really. January 1 is a Bank Holiday but the papers some other people have to sign would have to be done at 12pm on the second, and I’m not too positive that will happen. We will not rush it anyway.

“There might be a chance (for him to play) on the second but the seventh (against Wolves) is for me the first real possible date.”

And here is the full Liverpool squad expected to be available to face Thomas Frank’s side, barring any late injury issues.

Goalkeepers: Adrian, Alisson, Caoimhin Kelleher.

Defenders: Andy Robertson, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Kostas Tsimikas, Nat Phillips, Calvin Ramsay, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Midfielders: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Fabio Carvalho, Fabinho, Harvey Elliott, Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, Stefan Bajcetic.

Forwards: Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Bobby Clark, Ben Doak.

Sidelined: Arthur Melo (muscle issue), Luis Diaz (knee), Diogo Jota (calf injury).
