Full Liverpool squad available to face Leicester City as defender provides boost but six still missing

Liverpool are gearing up for their next match in the Premier League as they face Leicester City.

The Reds are preparing to face the Foxes in what is their final fixture of 2022. Liverpool will be looking to finish the calendar year on a positive note with three points.

Jurgen Klopp’s side go into the game in sixth place in the league table. Liverpool beat Aston Villa in their previous match, which saw them win three consecutive top flight fixtures for the first time this season.

In his press conference on Friday, Klopp provided a fitness update on his squad. Long-term absentees Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Arthur Melo remain on the sidelines, while Curtis Jones, James Milner and Roberto Firmino are all unavailable.

However, there is a boost with Ibrahima Konate returning to the squad for the first time since his involvement in the World Cup. Whether he starts or plays a part against Leicester, though, remains to be seen.

Here is the full Liverpool squad expected to be available to face Leicester, barring any late injury issues.

Goalkeepers: Adrian, Alisson, Caoimhin Kelleher.

Defenders: Andy Robertson, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Kostas Tsimikas, Nat Phillips, Calvin Ramsay, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Midfielders: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Fabio Carvalho, Fabinho, Harvey Elliott, Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, Stefan Bajcetic.

Forwards: Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah, Bobby Clark, Ben Doak.

Sidelined: Arthur Melo (muscle issue), James Milner (injury), Curtis Jones (injury), Luis Diaz (knee), Diogo Jota (calf injury), Roberto Firmino (injury).
