Full Liverpool squad available to face Arsenal as Jurgen Klopp without five players

On the back of a vital victory over Rangers earlier this week, Liverpool face a much tougher test in the form of Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners have been in scintillating form this term, winning all but one of their Premier League fixtures and appear to have developed a new-found confidence after sweeping a number of opponents aside in style with the help of summer signings such as Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus.

Jurgen Klopp's side have tasted victory on each of their previous three visits to the Emirates Stadium and will be hoping to extend this record despite the north London outfit heading into this contest as the favourites to come out on top and keep pace with league leaders Manchester City.

Those who remain out of action for the Reds ahead of this showdown in the capital are slowly edging their way back into contention, with Andy Robertson and Curtis Jones two players who are on the brink of a first-team return.

Arthur Melo is one individual fans cannot expect to see gracing the pitch any time soon, however, after an unfortunate update emerged on the severity of an injury sustained by the Brazilian in Liverpool training at the start of this week. Taking stock of the availability of his group on Friday afternoon, Klopp told reporters: "Curtis Jones was in training yesterday, it looked good – but that's now the first session. He's then probably the closest. Robbo is running a lot, looks like he's close."

"We have one new injury, it's Arthur Melo. In the last session before the Rangers game, in a normal situation he just injured a muscle. We have to wait for further assessment to know exactly how long it will be but he's out."

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita are two long-term absentees and appear to be no closer to overcoming their respective setbacks Below is the full list of players who the Reds' boss will have at his disposal ahead of the trip to the capital.

Goalkeepers: Alisson Becker, Adrian, Caoimhin Kelleher.

Defenders: Calvin Ramsay, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Kostas Tsimikas, Nat Phillips, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk.

Midfielders: Fabinho, Fabio Carvalho, Harvey Elliott, James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara.
