Full Liverpool squad available for Benfica as midfielder returns from injury

Liverpool are gearing up for their Champions League quarter-final first leg against Benfica. The Reds saw off Inter Milan in their last-16 tie, and are now looking to progress to the semi-final.

Jurgen Klopp’s side take on Benfica for the first time in the Champions League since the 2005/06 season, where Liverpool lost 3-0 in the last-16. More recently the Reds beat the Portuguese club in the Europa League in 2010.

With Liverpool still battling for the Premier League and FA Cup, as well as the Champions League, the possibility of an unprecedented quadruple is still achievable. However, Klopp himself has publicly played down talk of winning four trophies this season.

Naby Keita missed the recent win over Watford, having picked up a knee problem before the international break. Curtis Jones suffered a slight knock at the weekend, while Joel Matip was forced to wear a headband following a clash of heads.

Klopp has spoken about Liverpool’s current fitness situation, and the squad that he will have at his disposal to take on Benfica. He confirmed that he has no injury concerns going into the clash at the Estadio da Luz.
