Many schools across the country will close their doors again today as arctic weather conditions continue to sweep the country.
More snow is forecast on Tuesday, with fog and ice threatening chaos on the roads and forcing many local councils to keep pupils away for another day.
The Met Office is predicting treacherous conditions for the rest of the week and warns it will be a "cold and icy start to the day" on Tuesday with "freezing fog patches" in many areas.
This has led many schools to either close for the day or delay their start times to allow pupils and teachers to travel safely to class once the road conditions have improved.
