Full list of hottest curries from Deliveroo to celebrate National Curry Week

One of the most popular dishes in the UK is curry, so it is only fitting that this popular food loved by Brits gets a full week of celebration. National Curry Week which runs until Sunday October 9, gives curry fans an excuse to dive into their favourite dish and perhaps try one of the UK’s hottest curries.

Deliveroo is celebrating the humble curry by sharing a roundup of some of the spiciest curries from around the UK which are all available to order online. The delivery giant undertook some tasty research and has curated a Hot List of the most fiery curries from around the UK.

Here is the full list of all curries that you may want to order, especially if you want to stay indoors as the temperatures drop in the cooler months.

Hottest curries in the UK to order on Deliveroo

1. Lamb Madras, £7, Chaakoo, Glasgow

The combination of three regional chilli powders and hot green chillies to the curry base means big heat that builds and builds with every mouthful. It is the hottest curry on their menu, and is inspired by Chakoo’s chef Manu’s time in Tamil Nadu, Southern India.

Typically, Madras-style dishes were served sweeter, containing coconut and tamarind. Chef Manu’s recipe has been developed especially for the UK’s “hot curry” loving palate and aims to bring together blistering heat with a fully fragrant flavour.

2. Laal Maas, £13.95, Zouk, Manchester

The curry described as one of Zouk's hottest dishes is a classic Rajasthani lamb curry. It is cooked with red Kashmiri chillies and served on the bone to preserve moisture.

It can be made hotter, should you really want to challenge your palate.

3. Naga Curry, £11.95 - £12.95, Dulwich Tandoori Restaurant, London

The Naga Viper is one of the world's hottest chillies, measuring at 1 million on the Scoville index, which is the measurement for the spiciness or heat of chilli peppers. At Dulwich Tandoori Restaurant, Deliveroo customers can order the Naga Curry, which is a mutton or chicken curry cooked with fresh spinach and fiery Naga chilli paste.

It is described as a fragrant and tasty, but very hot dish. Just be sure to have a side of yoghurt handy, in case you feel the need to cool your palate quickly.

4. Bombay Blast Chicken, £13.95, Brick Lane Kitchen, London

The Bombay Blast curry at Brick Lane Kitchen is available with either chicken or lamb. It also uses the Naga Viper in a hot base sauce, which is a cause for great enjoyment for those who love extra spicy food.

5. Phall, £7.75, Kishmish, London

Phaal curry is considered to be even hotter than a vindaloo. It originates from Bangladeshi-owned curry-houses in Birmingham, consisting of a thick, tomato based curry made with Habanero or Scotch Bonnet peppers.

Brits can try this speciality from Kishmish in London, on Deliveroo. The curry base is often tempered with a hint of sweetness from fragrant fennel, which adds depth to the overall flavour profile of this dish.

6. Naga Phall, £10, Salford Curry King, Salford, Manchester

The Naga Phall is the chef's speciality at this eatery. It is made with Naga Viper peppers, ratcheting up the heat level in this dish faster than you can say "Pass me the water".

Deliveroo customers can choose from either chicken or lamb cooked in the chef's special Naga sauce combining tomatoes, fresh coriander and Naga Viper Chillies. It is said to be the hottest curry on the eatery's menu.

7. Chicken Chilli Mirch, £13.50, Mughli Charcoal Pit, Manchester

Set around an open charcoal pit, Mughli takes inspiration from a traditional tandoor oven. The Chicken Chilli Mirch is a fiery Madras chicken dish, in a sauce made with charred and roasted red pepper, Naga and boria chilli purée, mustard seeds and lemon.

A spokesperson from Deliveroo said, “There’s just something about tucking into a fiery curry that adds some extra zing to our taste buds, along with sweat to our brow. We want to bring the heat to Deliveroo customers’ this National Curry Week.

"Now that you know where you can order the hottest curries from, do you dare delve into these spicy delights?”
