Full list of every confirmed team in Europa League group stage as Arsenal prepare for draw

The table is now set for Friday's Europa League draw as the 31 other teams joining Arsenal in the group phase have all been confirmed.

After the rare experience of a full campaign without any European football, the north London outfit are back in the competition where they have reached a final and two semi-finals over the past five years as a result of finishing fifth in the Premier League last season.

And the Gunners have moved one step closer to discovering who they will be paired with in the group stage as the draw takes place on Friday in Istanbul, Turkey, following the conclusion of the final qualifiers that took place from Tuesday to Thursday with teams also transferring from the Champions League.

Full list of every confirmed team in Europa League group stage

Roma, Manchester United, Arsenal, Lazio, Braga, Red Star Belgrade, Dynamo Kyiv, Olympiacos, Feyenoord, PSV Eindhoven, Rennes, Monaco, Real Sociedad, Qarabag, Malmo, Ludogorets, Sheriff, Real Betis, Midtjylland, Bodo/Glimt, Union Berlin, Freiburg, Fenerbahce, Nantes, HJK, Sturm Graz, AEK Larnaca, Omonia, Union Saint-Gilloise, Trabzonspor, Zurich and Ferencvaros are the qualified teams for the Europa League draw.

Although, as per UEFA rules, clubs cannot be drawn against teams from the same association, which means, for example, Arsenal will avoid Man United, Lazio will avoid Roma and Real Betis will avoid Real Sociedad in the group stage.

Confirmed pots

All the pots have now been finalised with Roma, Arsenal, Man United, Lazio and Braga joined by Red Star Belgrade and Dynamo Kyiv in Pot 1 after they lost their Champions League play-off qualifiers earlier in the week. Olympiacos needed a penalty shootout win over Apollon to confirm their qualification.

AS Monaco are confirmed to be in Pot 2 along with Feyenoord, PSV Eindhoven, Rennes, Qarabag, Malmo, Ludogorets and Real Sociedad which means they can be paired with the Gunners in the group stage - setting up the possibility of some interesting - and perhaps daunting away trips.

If defender Hector Bellerin does end up returning to Spain and joining Real Betis, he could be in line for an immediate return to the Emirates Stadium as the La Liga outfit are in Pot 3 along with Sheriff, Midtjylland, Bodo Glimt, Ferencvaros, Union Berlin, SC Freiburg and Fenerbahce.

In Pot 4, Nantes, HJK, Sturm Graz, AEK Larnaca, Omonia, Zurich, Union Saint-Gilloise and Trabzonspor are all potential opponents for Arsenal.

Rule changes

Things are a little different since Arsenal were last in the Europa League two seasons ago. One being the away goals rule has been abolished, and the other being that 'The group stage has been reduced from 48 to 32 teams – eight groups of four. The eight group winners progress automatically to the round of 16.

'There will be additional knockout round play-offs prior to the round of 16; these will be between the eight UEFA Europa League group runners-up and the eight third-ranked teams from the UEFA Champions League groups.'

Of course, these changes can give the Europa League something of a Champions League feel, but only for those who top their group as two extra games - previously the round of 32 stage - are avoided. Arsenal topped their Europa League group for four straight years, so they can experience the benefits of the competition's new alterations if they repeat the trick this season.

As explained by UEFA's official website and due to the World Cup taking place in the winter months instead of the summer, matchday one of the group stage gets underway on September 8, 2022 and the final matchday is November 3, 2022 which means the Europa League group phase will be completed in eight weeks instead of the usual 12.
