Inclusion in the Good Food Guide is among the highest accolades for a restaurant - and there are plenty across Newcastle and the North East this year.
The guide is compiled by coupling reader feedback of eateries up and down the country with anonymous inspections by a team of experts. and one near Hexham, Northumberland, have been included in the Good Food Guide for the first time.
Published by Waitrose & Partners, the guide celebrates quality restaurants nationwide and this year includes the best local restaurant in the North of England and a County Durham restaurant which has made the top 20. The Raby Hunt, in Summerhill, near Darlington, has moved from 40th in the overall list to 13th.
