B&M has announced it will permanently close a number of its stores in May in a growing trend of high street closures.
The earliest closure will take place at its Bishop Auckland branch which will shut down on Friday, May 5. Following this, its Widnes location will close on May 17 before moving to a new site on May 24.
Greater Manchester will also be affected by the upcoming closures, with the Burden Retail Park location in Bolton closing near the end of the month. Despite the closures, the retail giant is also opening a number of new factors in many of the closed locations areas, the Mirror reports.

For example, the Stockton store in the Castlegate Shopping Centre is being relocated to a bigger unit. B&M has over 650 stores in the UK.

- CLOSED Broadwalk Shopping Centre, Bristol - March 29
- Bishop Auckland, County Durham - May 5
- Widnes, Cheshire - May 17
- Burden Retail Park, Bolton - May 24
Recently the supermarket chain scrapped its home delivery option on its main website following a trial in June 2022.
