Leeds United kick off their third consecutive season of Premier League football with a home match against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Whites will be looking to get the season off to a much better start than last year, when they were defeated 5-1 by Manchester United.
Jesse Marsch will also be hoping that he has far less injury concerns to deal with this time around, than he did in his first few months in charge. That said, he has hardly got off to the best of starts in that regard with some key players expected to miss the clash with Wolves.
What is more positive for Marsch is that several of those players currently in the treatment room are expected to return in August. So, with that in mind, here is a full look at Leeds’ injury list, and when they could make their comebacks.

Luis Sinisterra – hamstring
Luis Sinisterra limped out of his first Leeds start after less than 15 minutes against Crystal Palace. Worryingly, the Colombian left the pitch clutching his hamstring, though Marsch has confirmed he will be back on the training field in about a week.
What Marsch said (July 31): “Sinisterra is probably a week from being on the pitch.”
Potential return date: 21/08/22
Adam Forshaw - knee
Like Sinisterra, Adam Forshaw was withdrawn in the first half against Crystal Palace following a heavy challenge from Jean-Philippe Mateta. Again, Marsch is hopeful he will be training next week.
What Marsch said (July 31): “I think Adam (Forshaw) is a week from being on the pitch.”
Potential return date: 21/08/22
Liam Cooper - Achilles
Liam Cooper did not feature in any of the Whites' pre-season fixtures due to an Achilles issue. If all went to plan, though, he was back training on Monday.
What Marsch said (July 31): “So Liam (Cooper) will hopefully be on the pitch tomorrow.”
Potential return date: 13/08/22
Junior Firpo – knee
The frustrations of Junior Firpo’s Leeds career continued in the first game of pre-season as he picked up a knee injury against Blackpool. Marsch is looking towards him returning to training around mid-August.
What Marsch said (July 31): “Firpo is probably two weeks from being on the pitch.”
Potential return date: 27/08/22
Luke Ayling – knee
Luke Ayling underwent surgery on his knee prior to the final game of last season to overcome an issue that he had been nursing during the season. He could be back out on the training pitches around the same time as Firpo.
What Marsch said (July 31): “Luke (Ayling) is probably two weeks away from being on the pitch.”
Potential return date: 03/09/22
Stuart Dallas – leg
Stuart Dallas was finally pictured out of his knee brace and crutches at the friendly win over Cagliari on Sunday. No timescale has yet been put on when he could potentially return, though.
What Marsch said (May 6): “I think we can safely say it’ll be six months but it could be longer and I don’t think anyone wants to rush him.”
Potential return date: Unknown
