The Lionesses are set to host the USWNT in front of a sellout crowd at Wembley Stadium on Friday (October 3). The two teams are amongst the favourites to win next year's World Cup in Australia and both will be looking to put in a statement performance.
It's the first of two friendlies for the Lionesses as they also host Czech Republic at the Amex next Tuesday October, 11. Sarina Wiegman will be without her European Championship winning captain, though, as 25-year-old Leah Williamson was forced to withdraw from the squad after sustaining an injury in Arsenal training.
"We can confirm that Leah Williamson has withdrawn from the England squad after sustaining an injury in training." a statement read on Arsenal.com. "Leah will now return to Arsenal for further assessment."

However, in what is good news for Lionesses and Arsenal fans in particular, Lotte Wubben-Moy, has been called up to replace her captain. "Lotte Wubben-Moy has been called up to the squad to replace Leah and will link up with her England teammates today," the statement added.
Former Gunners star and now Manchester United forward Nikita Parris has also been handed the chance to impress Wiegman in light of the recent injuries.
