Championship winners Fulham dominate the 2021-22 PFA divisional team of the season with half the outfield players plying their trade for the Cottagers.
Marco Silva's side clinched the title last term thanks to a haul of 90 points and by scoring a whopping 106 goals - just missing out on Manchester City's second tier record set in the 2001-02 campaign. Fulham side had the most players of any team in the EFL's Championship team of the year which was announced back in April, with four.
Now, they have gone one better in the official 2022 PFA Championship Team Of The Year with five players named in it. Goal machine and Championship player of the season Aleksandar Mitrovic is joined by defenders Tim Ream and Tosin Adarabioyo as well as midfield pair Harry Wilson and Fabio Carvalho - who has since signed for Liverpool.
Bournemouth, who also secured automatic promotion to the Premier League, have three players in the side: defender Lloyd Kelly, midfielder Phillip Billing and striker Dominic Solanke.
Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Lee Nicholls also makes the cut, just as he did in the EFL team, after a superb season that saw him keep 18 clean sheets. Djed Spence, who excelled during his season-long loan at Nottingham Forest from second tier rivals Middlesbrough, and Blackburn's 22-goal forward Ben Brereton Diaz complete the side.
In terms of the two respected sides of the year, there are just three differences. Instead of Ream, Carvalho and Brereton Diaz the EFL XI includes Fulham's Antonee Robinson and Forest pair Joe Worrall and Ryan Yates.
Mitrovic's manager Silva was full of praise for a player who scored a total of 43 league goals - breaking the record for the most goals scored in a 46-game English league season, set by Guy Whittingham for Portsmouth in 1992-93.
"Aleksandar has performed at a very high level this season," said Silva. "Of course, the goals he scored and the records he has broken have created the headlines. He deserves to end the season by having his personal achievement recognised with Golden Boot award for the 43 goals he scored in the Championship. His accomplishment is a consequence of the good work of the team, and he will be the first person to appreciate and recognise the contribution from his teammates.
"As well as scoring goals, Aleksandar has been a fantastic team player. He has been involved in every part of matches from good positional play, linking with teammates and his defensive duties and he has fully embraced our philosophy."
Fulham will now be aiming to avoid recent history that has seen them immediately relegated following promotion to the top flight in both 2018 and 2020.
