Fulham respond to Fabio Carvalho rumours after Liverpool transfer claim

Marco Silva insists Fabio Carvalho will be a Fulham player until at least the end of the season as the Championship club's transfer stance has been made clear.

Liverpool's interest in the 19-year-old is well known and the Echo understands the Reds are one of a number of clubs monitoring Fulham youngster.

The Merseyside club are yet to make contact with Fulham over a potential move, but rumours emerged on Friday that they could push to complete a deal before Monday's transfer deadline.

It seems such reports are untrue, however, as Silva laid clear Fulham's stance on Carvalho and that he expects the youngster to remain at Craven Cottage for the remainder of the campaign.

“Fabio will be with us until the end of the season,” he said on Friday. “I would like to see him here for more years.

“From day one I have been trying to keep him. It is not a surprise that clubs are interested in Fabio. We are talking about a young player with big talent.

“The situation is not easy because he is in the last year of his contract, but that is the reality. It is out of our plans for him to leave the club in this window.

“It has been difficult for us to renew with him, but we are trying.

“It is always difficult with a player of this talent – even with a contract it is difficult to keep him, and without it is even worse. But Fabio will be with us until the end of this season.”

Carvalho is out of contract in the summer which has prompted a number of clubs to keep tabs on his situation in west London.

Chelsea have also been credited with interest in recent months, as have Leeds United and West Ham.

Carvalho has risen through the ranks at Fulham and has scored seven goals in 17 Championship appearances so far this season.
