Fulham loan star Jean-Pierre Tiehi will cause problems in Championship, insists Hamilton Accies boss John Rankin

John Rankin reckons new signing Jean-Pierre Tiehi has already shown he will cause problems in the Championship this season after his 17 minute cameo during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Partick Thistle.

The Frenchman made his debut for Accies 24 hours after the Fulham loanee was unveiled by the club as Rankin's latest addition at New Douglas Park.

He came on as a 73rd minute substitute for fellow striker Jonny Ngandu and Rankin says has already seen positive glimpses of what Tiehi will offer.

He said: "Jean-Pierre came in on Friday and trained that morning so it was just waiting on the clearance, which came through on Saturday morning.

"It was a case of giving him a wee bit of time to see what we are all about.

"And I was pleased with him.

"You see the first two instances he gets the ball, they are both shots on goal.

"His first thought is to go for goal and he has a good physical presence so you can see he will cause problems in this league.

"But I'm delighted to get him in. He adds another dimension to us.

Hamilton Accies have signed striker Jean-Pierre Tiehi on a season-long loan from English side Fulham (Hamilton Academical FC)

"I've known for a number of weeks we needed to get a striker in the door. He's young and he's got a big career ahead of him.

"He's got something to prove, he's hungry and a player we are looking forward to working with and developing."

Accies are set o add to their squad further this week, with Rankin hopeful of an additional three players joining his squad ahead of Saturday's Championship clash away to Ayr United.
