Fulham boss Marco Silva slams 'strange' Nottingham Forest decision

Fulham manager Marco Silva has said Nottingham Forest committed a foul in the build-up to their goal at Craven Cottage last night (Tuesday).

Watford loanee Philip Zinckernagel scored the only goal of the game as Forest guaranteed a top-six finish with a win over the league leaders, as Bournemouth simultaneously dropped two points against Swansea.

Speaking after the match, Silva blasted the goal as "strange" for the foul, though at the same time said it was his team's own fault for conceding it.

“The goal was strange,” he said. “It was a clear foul, the player jumped on Neco (Williams). I saw it and the fourth official has to see it as well. It was our fault the goal we conceded, but it was a foul on Neco.”

Despite highlighting the foul that was was not given, Silva criticised his own team's below-par performance level for the defeat.

He said: “It wasn’t a good game to watch. The players wanted to get the job done tonight but we didn’t perform at our best level at all. But the pressure of completion is the best pressure to have. We have to learn from this.

“At certain moments we didn’t do the basics. We had to control the game in our way and in the first half we didn’t do that."
