Fulham 3-2 Liverpool: Reds’ 26-match unbeaten run ended at Craven Cottage

Liverpool missed a chance to extend their lead over Arsenal as they suffered only their second Premier League defeat of the season at Fulham.

After Arsenal slipped up against Everton on Saturday, Arne Slot’s side know victory at Craven Cottage would have taken them 14 points clear at the top.

But Liverpool were stunned by three goals in 14 minutes in the first half, as their 26-match unbeaten run in the Premier League came to an end and an impressive Fulham side boosted their European hopes.

Liverpool went ahead early on through a spectacular strike from Alexis Mac Allister, who unleashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner from 20 yards.

But Fulham equalised when Curtis Jones failed to deal with a ball into the box and Ryan Sessegnon fired past Caoimhin Kelleher.

Liverpool then fell behind when Andy Robertson passed straight to Alex Iwobi and, after his initial shot was blocked, his deflected effort found the net.

Fulham then extended their lead through a brilliant goal from the brilliant Rodrigo Muniz, who brought a high ball down with a great flick, bullied Virgil van Dijk and fired through Kelleher.

Luis Diaz pulled one back for Liverpool in the second half but Fulham held on.

The defeat means Liverpool are 11 points clear of Arsenal with seven games remaining.
