St Mirren want Larne midfielder Fuad Sule.
The Buddies are keen on the defensive midfielder, who is out of contract this summer and was a key figure in Larne winning their first Northern Irish Premiership. They’ll have a crack at next season’s Champions League qualifiers but that is unlikely to keep the 26-year-old at Inver Park.
St Mirren recruitment chief Martin Foyle has put Sule to Stephen Robinson and they are both keen to get a deal over the line. Forest Green are also interested but a move to the Scottish Premiership would be the player’s preferred choice. Saints are also keen on a loan for Fulham striker Kieron Bowie. The Buddies will play top six football in the post-split matches in this year's Premiership after a solid first 33 games for Robinson's side. They return to action next weekend when they take on Hibs at Easter Road in the European hunt.
Both sides are on 44 points and will be keen to land fifth spot. Celtic beating Inverness in the Scottish Cup final would ensure that position does gain all of the league's top five a shot at continental football next term.
