FSG get emphatic transfer message as Liverpool fans give verdict on club's owners

Liverpool supporters have serious concern at the club's owners FSG over transfers - but the vast majority still have complete faith in boss Jurgen Klopp.

Reds fans were asked to give their responses - in terms of a value out of 100 - to seven key questions and the responses compared to our last survey in August underline a sense of frustration at the club's owners over transfers.

The ECHO has surveyed over 1,000 Liverpool fans for their views on the club. And the findings have indicated that the approach to the transfer market is a major source of concern.

Liverpool brought in club-record signing Darwin Nunez for £85m from Benfica and snapped up promising youngsters Fabio Carvalho from Fulham and Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen.

But the Reds failed to secure the services of a top-class midfielder with a season-long loan deal for Arthur Melo, who has barely featured since arriving from Juventus, the best they could muster before the last window closed.

In August the approval rating from fans for the club's approach to transfers was 80.9% but that figure has seen a huge 32.7% drop down to 48.2%.

Liverpool owners FSG are exploring options to sell the club and inevitably happiness with their stewardship in light of the decision has hit approval ratings. Three months ago fans endorsed FSG to the tune of 83.6%, but that has now fallen to 62.6%.

Fans believe the overall level of ambition shown by the club has dropped, with a 22.9% fall from 87.7% to 64.8%.

Liverpool headed into the break for the World Cup in the last-16 of the Champions League but still quite a way off the pace in the Premier League. The Reds are in sixth place on 22 points - 15 behind leaders Arsenal and 10 behind defending champions Manchester City.

But, unsurprisingly given how much credit he has in the bank, the vast majority of fans still believe Klopp is the right man for the job despite a dip in results. Klopp had a whopping 95.5% approval rating in August, but that has slipped marginally down to 89.1%.

There were also slight changes in how much of an emotional connection supporters feel with the current squad (79.5% versus 89.9%) and how they rate the Anfield atmosphere (91.2% versus 78.8%) in August compared to November respectively.

Overall happiness with the club has plummeted from 87.2% to 60% - a drop of 27.2% - which is way behind how Arsenal (86.8%) and Man City (79.8%) fans felt in their surveys this month.

Although Reds fans are still much happier than supporters of Everton (30.9%) Chelsea (38.3%) and Manchester United (52.7%).
