Frontman of Scottish rock band Travis rushed to hospital after injury at gig

THE frontman of a Scottish rock band Travis was rushed to hospital after suffering a injury at a gig.

Fran Healy was put into an ambulance after "seriously twisting" his ankle while hopping off stage at the group's concert in Seattle, in Washington state, on Sunday, February 2.

The 51-year-old revealed his injury in a video posted on social media on Tuesday, February 4.

The beloved Brit-award-winning band, which was formed in 1990 in Glasgow, is known for its hit tunes including Sing, Side, Flowers In The Window, and Closer.

The group is made up of Fran, Dougie Payne, Andy Dunlop, and Neil Primrose.

In a clip shared on social media, Fran said: "Hi everyone, it's Fran here. If anyone saw me being wheeled out of the venue last night on a gurney and being put into an ambulance it's because I twisted, seriously twisted my ankle stepping off stage, as I was waving goodbye to everyone.

"It sort of twisted around back to front. We thought it was broken, and went to the hospital, thankfully it's just a really gnarly sprain and I've got one of these massive big space shoes now.

"So, when you turn up to Salt Lake City, you can all laugh at that. The show must go on. I'm fine, I'm slightly dizzy just now because I'm on some painkillers but apart from that it's all good."

Meanwhile, announcing his injury on Twitter/X, the band's account wrote: "If anyone saw Fran being put into an ambulance after our Seattle show, no you didn’t.

"Fran has sprained his ankle, but he’s ok and the show must go on!"
