The most expensive houses sold in Greater Manchester in October 2019 were spread across Trafford, Stockport and Manchester.
While most are huge detached properties according to data from the Land Registry, the most expensive of all was a city centre terraced house, which fetched £2.1 million.
Another unexpected home on the list is a flat in Altrincham.
Here are the ten most expensive houses sold in Greater Manchester in October.
Kennedy Street, Manchester
Terraced house, sold for £2,100,000

On a little-trodden street in Manchester city centre - further along from the City Arms and Vine Inn pubs - sits this towering terraced property.
The building has been used as office space, much like other properties on the same street, before being sold off as a house.
According to the Land Registry, this sale may have been a buy-to-let, a transfer to a company, or a repossession.
Theobald Road, Bowdon
Detached house, sold for £1,940,000

This enormous mansion is on a private street in Bowdon, Altrincham.
Its sweeping driveway leads to a grand white building, with a modern interior and five bedrooms.
The house last sold in 2006 for £950,000.
Park Road, Hale
Semi-detached house, sold for £1,595,000

This four-storey home, complete with gym and playroom in the basement, fetched a whopping £1,595,000 back in October.
It's a property that's packed with character features, from stained glass windows to an angular turret.
There are modern touches too beneath the angled ceilings, and a large enclosed garden to the rear.
Chesham Place, Bowdon
Detached house, sold for £1,520,000

Another Trafford property here (are you sensing a theme?) and this time it's a six-bedroom pile within walking distance of Hale village centre.
The bright interiors feature a period-style kitchen and dining room, fireplaces, and stained glass window, plus a small office hidden behind bookcases in the main living room.
The home has climbed quickly in price in the last few years, having sold for £825,000 in 2013.
Park Road, Bowdon
Detached house, sold for £1,430,000

On a quiet, leafy street in Bowdon is this 1930s-built six bedroom property, its brick frontage covered in ivy.
Sitting on roughly half an acre of land, the house comes with a large L-shaped drawing room and dining room, as well as a wine cellar and a sunny garden room.
Ridge Park, Bramhall
Detached house, sold for £1,225,000

Over to Stockport now, and to this modern, sprawling property.
Occupying a corner plot, the huge home features five bedrooms plus an enormous attic space currently used as a games room.
A large glass ceiling along the back of the house floods the sitting room and dining room with natural light.
The Mount, Altrincham
Detached house, sold for £1,220,000

This magnificent late Georgian-era house is packed with countryside charm and is tucked on a quiet road near Altrincham town centre.
Just a 10 minute walk away from Altrincham Market and all the independent bars and restaurants that surround it, the house has seven bedrooms and plenty of original features.
It's even fitted with an AGA.
Langham Road, Bowdon
Flat, sold for £1,100,000

That's right - it's a £1.1 million apartment, and it's not one of the penthouses in Beetham Tower.
Flats in this former Victorian mansion house in Bowdon are much larger than your average, with grand proportions and allocated parking spaces.
The building is close to Hale train station.
Spath Road, Didsbury
Semi-detached house, sold for £935,000

One of the few properties on this list to fetch below the million pound mark is a semi-detached home in the popular suburb of Didsbury.
In keeping with many houses in the area, it's a bay-fronted home with five bedrooms, and period features such as parquet floors and fireplaces.
Oakfield Close, Bramhall
Detached house, sold for £930,000

Within walking distance of the shops and bars of Bramhall, as well as the train station, is this detached four bedroom house.
It's got a sweeping driveway leading to a handy double garage, with an impressive master suite that includes a dressing room and en suite bathroom.
