There are many cats in Merseyside currently up for adoption.
Rescue charities across the region are looking for households willing to open their homes, and their hearts, to a feline friend. With many cats currently up for adoption, some are sadly, not being looked at twice.
From abandoned pets that were saved by the public to strays found on the streets, here, we have put together a list of 10 cats that are up for adoption in Merseyside, and where to find them - from the RSPCA to Freshfields in Sefton.

At the RSPCA Wirral and Chester branch:
Bruce
Shy Bruce is believed to be around four years old and can be rehomed with a friendly/calm dog or another cat, as long as they aren't hyper. The RSPCA says Bruce can be rehomed to children of secondary age but must also have a "calm attitude".
Little Chop
Little chop has come into care due to his previous owner no longer being able to look after him. He is now aged 13 and has had a loving family all of his life so is undoubtedly shy and keeping to himself. The RSPCA asks that he is to be in a adult only household with no other pets, just so Little Chop can relax properly and come out of his shell.
Doris
Doris is a three-year-old cat that came from a stressful home making her act out of character. She is now looking for a calm and quiet home, without other dogs or cats or children as staff say this is "too overwhelming" for her.
Sebastian
Sebastian is around eight years old and was brought to the rescue as a stray with a raw wound on his face. This has since healed and he is now looking for his forever home.
However, he is shy and withdrawn and after his time on the streets has contracted FIV so needs to be rehomed as an indoor cat. He would be best suited to a quieter home without other cats or dogs.
Humphrey
Humphrey was brought to the RSPA after he was seen being hit by a car. It took a few days for him to be found and taken to the vet but the 13-year-old suffered no serious injuries. He was thought to have a broken jaw when vet saw it was out of alignment and he was unable to close his mouth, but when he was x-rayed they discovered this was a previous injury that had healed this way.
They also discovered he had a severe inguinal hernia that needed surgery and also a retained testicle which needed to be located and removed. He has since undergone surgery and is "like a new cat". He does however have FIV so is looking to be an indoor cat.

Jasmine & Sierra
There's still no interest for 10-year-olds Jasmine and Sierra. They came to the rescue from a very loving home where unfortunately the new arrival was extremely allergic.
Jasmine is a friendly flirty cuddle monster who would love to spend an afternoon on your lap having cuddles. She loves her treats and is very keen on her catnip. She has a very distinctive little meow, so you know when she’s calling you over for another fuss.
Sierra was quite obviously loved and cared for tremendously. She is an independent huntress of a cat who loves to explore and wander. However, this confident lady is also a big fan of head bumps and cuddles for anybody lucky enough to catch her attention. We are sure that she will win your heart with her regal grace and loving nature.
Cupcake
Cupcake is a two-year-old cat that was brought to the rescue with nothing, not even a cat carrier. After a while, staff realised she was pregnant, having already had two litters previously. She has now had her kittens and is looking for a home of her own where she can be given the attention she loves.
Coco and Kitkat
This mother and daughter were taken to the rescue after their previous owner's partner was allergic. Coco - the mum - is described as a playful and outgoing car and is 11.
Kitkat is the more reserved of the two but is happy when she gets to know you. She is around 10 years old. Both cats are overweight and would need to be on a diet plan and preferably rehomed to a home without a dog.
