From passenger services to security: Newcastle Airport careers fair with jobs at Jet2 up for grabs

With all travel restrictions removed in the UK from Friday, more holiday makers will be planning their next holiday abroad.

And an increased level of holiday makers could mean more opportunities to work in travel. With the possibility that interest in travel could return to pre-pandemic levels, Newcastle International Airport is looking to recruit staff for what it hopes will be a busy summer season.

The airport is hosting its second career fair of the year at St. James Park on Friday March 25, with the search on for security officers, passenger services assistants and car park operatives. Some of the airport's largest business partners, including Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will also be in attendance, positions in customer service and management up for grabs.

Organised in conjunction with the Newcastle United Foundation, the SAFC Foundation of Light and Newcastle College, the latest careers fair is aimed at those who couldn't make it the first time round or weren't seeking employment previously. There will be a mix of entry level, team leader and managerial vacancies on offer, with all roles offered by the airport itself including a bonus of £250 after 20 weeks of continuous service.

Nick Jones, Chief Executive of Newcastle International Airport, said: "We are very much looking forward to a busy summer season, as such we are looking for enthusiastic and hard-working individuals to join our team. The aviation industry offers excellent career prospects and with a range of roles available across the Airport site, I would encourage anyone looking for employment or simply for a new challenge to come along and find out more information."
