The phrase Season’s Greetings is apt in the case of Bristol City; all that optimism, all that positivity of a new campaign each and every year is often matched with pleasing results only for a bleak midwinter to invariably bring everyone back to a sense of reality.
It’s precisely what’s transpired in 2022/23 and the Robins end the year pretty much in the same way they started it. But, apologies if we sound patronising, Christmas shouldn’t be a time for wallowing in such misery.
There have been some bright spots over the last 12 months with various individuals impressing, two Severnside Derby wins and the continual conveyer belt of young talent that keeps emerging from the academy.
