From Rihanna to Kim Kardashian and Julia Fox — Milan Fashion Week’s front row was electric

A heavily pregnant Rihanna, dressed up in purple faux fur and a chainmail headpiece, sidled up to A$AP Rocky at the Gucci show on Friday afternoon. The pictures sent as many shock waves through the fashion industry as the revelation the luxury house had collaborated with Adidas for its AW22 collection.

Despite whispers the couple-of-the-moment might pop up during London Fashion Week, it was Milan that succeeded in attracting them, alongside a host of other A-listers whose outings came to define the Italian shows.

Hordes of adoring fans packed outside the Fondazione Prada to get a glimpse of stars slipping in to see Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons’ most recent co-designed collection at the start of the collections, on February 24.

Crowds erupted when Kim Kardashian appeared, wearing a full length leather trench from Prada’s latest menswear collection, a patent green shirt, baggy trousers and gloves, complete with silver shades.

Online, many jumped to the conclusion Kardashian’s Balenciaga phase has already ended. She has worked collaboratively with Balenciaga’s creative director Demna Gvasalia on many of her recent looks, from 2021’s Met Gala hooded dress to her SNL takeover. Now, many are convinced the Prada X Kim era has finally dawned.

Other surprise guests have included Anne Hathaway, who came to support Giorgio Armani, and Euphoria heartthrob Jacob Elordi, who sat front row for Matthieu Blazy’s Bottega Veneta debut.

At Diesel, the likes of Julia Fox and Joy Crookes sat to see creative director Glenn Martins’ debut runway show, while Kylie Minogue stepped out for the Versace show, as well as a Bulgari event where she was caught posing with British Vogue editor Edward Enninful.

The UK has been well represented across the show circuit as well. Rita Ora and beau Taika Waititi cuddled up at Fendi, while the royal touch has come with twins Lady Eliza and Amelia Spencer at Alberta Ferretti, and Lady Amelia Windsor attending the Del Core runway.
