Here, he earned both a master’s in technology with an impressive award-winning Research Paper and an MBA while earning the Nitori International Scholarship.
Outside academics, Omer excelled in Japanese, earning a Level 1 in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test – the highest attainable level. Japanese language skills also helped him land a role as a translator for the Japanese Police. His multilingual skills have been a cornerstone in his career, helping him bridge cultural contexts as needed.
In 2010, Omer joined Rakuten Japan in Tokyo, starting his tenure in the corporate tech world. He naturalized as a Japanese citizen, demonstrating his commitment to the locale he served. However, he soon saw his career take a major turn when he relocated to the US in 2016, joining Rakuten USA as a Senior Product Manager. Here, Omer successfully implemented a new payout system for merchants on Rakuten’s e-commerce platform, managing transactions worth over USD 300 million within three years without any significant issues. The successful implementation of this system demonstrates his meticulous attention to detail and impeccable project management skills. Other achievements at Rakuten include doubling the Post Purchase NPS score by improving shipment tracking and communication between merchants and customers and designing financial systems for Rakuten Card USA on the Google Cloud Platform from scratch.
Currently, Omer serves as the Principal Product Manager in Silicon Valley, where his role has evolved to encompass the management of international teams across several continents. In this role, he can take his leadership to the next level, using his skills in a global context.
