From filming in Glasgow to Bridgerton - here's what the cast of Derry Girls has been up to

Derry Girls is set to hit our television screens with its third and final season this year, with the whole Our Lady Immaculate gang set to return to Derry for the Channel 4 show.

But, since the show has been on a three-year hiatus, what have the stars of Derry Girls been up to in that time?

Saoirse-Monica Jackson - Erin Quinn

Saoirse has been a busy bee since the second season of Derry Girls aired, including filming for the brand new 'The Flash' film, alongside stars like Ezra Miller, Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton, to be released in 2023.

Other appearances include 2020 film Finding You, BBC dating series show Pretty Single and 2020 short film Liverpool Ferry.

She will reprise her role as main girl Erin Quinn in Derry Girls, albeit an older version of the excitable teenager we remember.

Jamie-Lee O'Donnell - Michelle Mallon

Jamie-Lee is no stranger to our lovely city, as she was in Glasgow filming for new Channel 4 series Screw, a show about prison staff at an all-male centre in Great Britain, where she plays staff member Rose Gill.

Jamie-Lee has also filmed a new movie based on a Francine Rivers novel called Redeeming Love, released back in January of this year.

Other accolades include a live performance of I Told My Mum I Was Going on an RE Trip, shown on BBC Two, and RTE Does Comic Relief alongside her Derry Girls comrades.

Nicola Coughlan - Clare Devlin

Nicola has hit screens as Penelope Featherington in period drama Bridgerton, produced by Netflix - which has been a smash hit in the UK.

Nicola also took part in RTE Does Comic Relief, and appeared in 18th century drama Harlots, that was axed in its third season in 2019, the same time as Derry Girls released its second season.

Louisa Harland - Orla McCool

Louisa's most recent role was as Claire McCann in horror comedy Boys from County Hell, released back in April 2020 - only a month into the coronavirus pandemic.

Other roles include Cloda in The Deceived alongside Normal People star Paul Mescal, and a 2017 film starring Mr Harry Potter himself Daniel Radcliffe, called Lost in London.

Dylan Llewellyn - James Maguire

Dylan has been fairly quiet on the acting front since the release of Derry Girls: season two, but he is a seasoned actor as most people recognise the 29-year-old for playing Martin 'Jono' Johnson in Hollyoaks.

He has also featured in Holby City, Call the Midwife, a new biography called Pistol that looks at Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones, and comedy A Grand Romantic Gesture, released in 2022.

Check out the Derry Girls season 3 trailer here, and you can expect the release date to be here as soon as it is announced on Channel 4.
