From Armie Hammer to David Beckham: Here are the best (and worst) celebrity quarantine haircuts

Owing to the current coronavirus pandemic and worldwide lockdowns, many have found themselves attempting DIY haircuts - often with disastrous results.

But it's not just regular people like you or me who are being tempted by the kitchen scissors - many celebrities have also tried (and failed at) giving themselves a good trim.

From Armie Hammer's shocking new mohawk, to Tiger King-inspired tresses, we've seen it all in the past few weeks.

So, for your amusement, here are some of the best - and worst - celeb quarantine haircuts we've seen so far.

1. Armie Hammer

Killing the game.

A post shared by Armie Hammer (@armiehammer) on

American actor Armie Hammer shocked fans on March 16 when he revealed his drastic new hair style with his 1.3million followers on Instagram.

Donning a sleeveless, frayed crop top and swimming shorts, the star posed with his hand on his hip, as he took a selfie of his curly mohawk and powerful new facial hair, a handlebar moustache he lovingly crafted himself.

Many have reacted to Armie's... interesting new look, including his Call Me By Your Name co-star, Timothée Chalamet, who responded with two hot face Emojis.

Survival expert Bear Grylls also praised the actor on his new barnet, exclaiming: "Oh wow!! Strong Armie!!"

As for us, we're not so convinced this look is a keeper...

2. Ricky Martin

Ricky Martin opted for a splash of colour (Instagram @ Ricky Martin)

During an Instagram Live session, the singer showed off the new hair shade he's adopted during lockdown.

Sadly the colour was just temporary and he is now back to his natural shade.

3. David Beckham

Proving that he can *literally* do no wrong, Becks revealed his cleanly-shaven scalp, while urging fans to 'stay safe', 'stay home' and 'stay strong.'

While it's not the first time the ex-footballer has sported (uhum) a shaved look, it has to be noted that he's done a good job of the DIY haircut.

3. Ovie Soko

The former Love Island star is known for his cool style and laid back vibes, but sadly his attempt at a quarantine fade left a lot to be desired.

After Ovie shared a snap of his new do on Instagram, many reacted to the image, with one fan writing: "[sic] Ovie I love u but why."

Naturally, though, the professional basketball player responded to the hair hate with a witty video of himself basking in the sunshine, along with the caption: "I heard sunlight helps the hair grow."

4. Blake Shelton

Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week, Blake Shelton, AKA, one of America's Sexiest Men Alive, received a trim from girlfriend Gwen Stefani.

But the haircut wasn't your standard short back and sides - oh, no - Stefani decided to give her beau a Joe Exotic-inspired mullet, before cutting a "J" and an "F" in the back, in a nod to the talk show host.

5. Cody Simpson

Blake isn't the only celeb getting a hair cut from his other half - Miley Cyrus took the razor to Cody Simpson's luscious blonde locks towards the start of the month.

The pair, who have been dating since October 2019, after Cyrus split from husband Liam Hemsworth, opted for the buzz cut in order to raise awareness for ocean conservation, a cause close to both of them.
