But with United planning a huge summer revamp with Paul Pogba set to exit and Leicester City's Youri Tielemans identified as a potential target, it could scupper Garner's hopes of becoming a regular fixture in the United 11.
And transfer expert and journalist Dean Jones told Football League World that the exciting Garner wants to be a regular next season at whichever team he is at.
“Garner’s having a great time this season and he doesn’t want to be on the fringes anywhere else at the moment. He’s showed his value and he wants to kick on next season and be a big part of a team wherever that is. Who knows, it could yet be Forest.”
