'Frightening contrast' - Arsenal fans send Chelsea Mudryk verdict amid Bukayo Saka comparison

Arsenal supporters have poked fun at Chelsea fans on social media, claiming that Bukayo Saka has outshined Mykhailo Mudryk in England's clash with Ukraine. The Gunners star provided the assist for Harry Kane to put the Three Lions ahead, before doubling his country's lead with a fantastic effort from range just minutes later.

Mudryk was heavily linked with a move to the north London outfit in the January transfer window, only for the Blues to swoop in and hijack the deal. football.london understands that talks between Arsenal and Shakhtar Donetsk were thought to have initially progressed well.

The Gunners remained in contact with the Ukrainian side and there was even confidence that they were going to secure the winger's signature. But, then, Chelsea hijacked the deal at the 11th hour and matched Arsenal's bid, which was later revealed to be more-favourably structured for the Ukrainian side.

Despite having once looked destined to join Mikel Arteta's title charge, Mudryk was unveiled to Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge just hours later. Instead, Arsenal signed Leandro Trossard from Brighton, who has hit the ground running in north London.

So, with that being said, football.london has taken a look at some of the best reaction on social media to Saka's duel with Mudryk at Wembley.

@hxmz4 tweeted: "If Mudryk is £100m, Saka is £300m. It’s frightening how generational starboy is in contrast."

@symeonbrown tweeted: "I’m glad Mudryk was on the pitch to take notes on what a bonafide world class winger can do. When mid forwards are selling for €100M Saka is peerless and priceless."

@john6011527 tweeted: "Interesting watching Saka and Mudryk come up against each other in the same area of the pitch. I've heard of a 'gulf in class' but these guys are oceans apart. Levels."

@sbskelpie tweeted: "I just love that Mudryk had the best view of Saka’s Goal and Assist."

@GoonerViews tweeted: "Now you can see why Mudryk would of only been a back up player to Saka."

@Faaabianskiii tweeted: "Saka showing Mudryk the talent he could be playing with if only he followed his heart."
