More than £3,400 has been raised following the tragic death of a Tullibody man found after his car crashed down an embankment.
Robert Wilson, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in Tillicoultry last Sunday.
The accident - which didn’t involve any other cars - is understood to have occurred in the early hours of March 27 on the A908.
At around 9am police officers were attending another incident when they came across Robert’s black Volkswagen Golf, partially concealed in woodland, down an embankment at the junction with Lower Mill Street.
Mr Wilson was the driver and the only occupant of the car.
Police say the car may have crashed while travelling eastbound between Sauchie and Tillicoultry, sometime between 5am and 8am, but the crash is not believed to have been witnessed and had not been previously reported to the emergency services.
Friends of Robert have rallied in the aftermath of his death, donating thousands to an online appeal set up by friend Michael Cairns.
Michael says on the gofundme page: “Everyone who knew Bobby knew he was a great guy. He was a legend in my eyes.
“My bestest pal, my brother. You are gonna be missed Bob, you were some character.”
Tributes posted on the page read: “Really nice lad taken way too soon.
“Thoughts and prayers with his family n friends at this very sad time.”
Another added: “Your smile/laugh was so infectious, never going to be another like you buddy.”
Sergeant David Marr, of the Stirling Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with Robert Wilson’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“Robert’s death isn’t being treated as suspicious, however, our enquiries into the full circumstances of the crash remain ongoing.
“I continue to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or been on the road in the early hours of Sunday morning and may have seen the car involved prior to the crash.
“Similarly I would also appeal to anyone who has dash-cam footage to contact officers as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0962 of March 27.
