Friends fans go wild over epic doormat asking postman to solve Ross and Rachel debate

"We were on a break." Perhaps five of the most divisive words in history, TV fans have spent years debating whether or not Ross Geller and Rachel Green were on a break. Everybody's favourite friends, and sometimes lovers, the iconic pair and their famous rift is the stuff of pop culture legend.

But that doesn't mean TV lovers have agreed on a definitive answer over the years. Fortunately, the world might be a little bit closer to answering the age-old question thanks to one woman and her divisive doormat. A Friends fan has gone viral after proudly displaying a doormat outside her home, which poses the much-debated question, and has captured the response of delivery workers.

As shown in @iamaqt1971's TikTok clip, which has amassed over one million views, a doormat outside her home instruct posties to help settle the matter.

The premise is simple, if they believe Ross and Rachel were on a break, they should leave the parcel to the left of the mat, voting yes, but if not they should vote no, by leaving the delivery to the right.

"Here it is. I'm so excited. I cannot wait until I get my first delivery," explained the eager homeowner in the clip.

Unfortunately, her first visitor did not appear to notice the mat, instead leaving the parcel in the middle of the porch, as shown in her video of the anticlimactic moment.

But as they say, the second time's a charm, and people were delighted to see the next delivery driver voted - taking time to consider his answer too. In the clip, the postie can be seen voting yes - to the amusement of the video's seven million viewers.

However, not everyone was so impressed by the man's answer, proving the question continues to be divisive.

One commenter thought: " He was sure about that one." A second said: "They were on a break! was he wrong yes!" And another joked: "Of course a man would say yes! Pls!!!"

But someone else wrote: "Yes they were on a break but Ross was still wrong. "They were on a break but Ross was way too fast moving on," a different reply agreed.

Taking a different approach, one commenter even suggested both answers would have been wrong.

"It’s needs a 'Yes, BUT' option. I would have to leave a note," they quipped.
